Runa and Clara Michaels Poster

The Shadow and Maria Poster I made inspired me to draw the friendship between Runa and her best friend/partner, Clara Michaels.

Runa first met Clara when she helped her and a few other officers from the United Federation Police Department (U.F.P.D.) stopped the robbery by shooting the tire of the robbery's car. Runa and Clara talked for a bit, then they became best friends.

Since then, Runa sought to become a police officer to protect those who cannot defend the world on their own. She trained and grew to become one with the help if Clara's encouragement.

After graduation, Runa officially became the police officer and worked with Clara as her partner.

For five years, Runa and Clara solved different police cases and fought crime. One night, Clara was shot by one of the gangsters when they were on a mission to retrieve an artifact that was far from their hometown. Runa couldn't handle losing Clara, so she tried calling for help, but to no avail. Eventually, she called the police for help.

Soon after, Clara was hospitalized. Runa was asked to visit Clara for a heart-to-heart conversation. And so, she did. Clara said her last words. This included asking Runa to promise her to take her place in protecting the world and to stay alive until she finds her real purpose in life. After saying her final words, Clara died.

Runa went into a mental breakdown, so the doctors had to carry her out. After that, she banged the door while trying to deny Clara's death. One of the doctors apologized and that there's nothing they could do to keep Clara alive.

Sometime after that, Runa ran out of the hospital and into the grassy fields. She tripped over a stone and landed on her knees. Then, she mourned for her.

During Clara's funeral, Runa kept mourning for her until her creator/father, Professor Lucas came and comforted her, saying that there's still someone left to care for her and that was himself. Runa was comforted, but it didn't mean she could let go of the feeling she had felt after witnessing Clara's death.

As a result, she became overprotective over her friends and family, especially her co-workers. Everyone was annoyed by this, but they managed to tolerate her  because they knew how much Clara's death had affected her.

Runa's overprotective feeling resulted in trying to save Professor Lucas in a lab set on fire after they had been tricked to go on a mission that's really far away. Some of her colleagues tried to stop her, but to no avail. In the end, she passed out while trying to look for him.

Luckily, Runa awoke in Aleyah and her parents' cottage. At that point, she had amnesia. Sometime after that, she was adopted by Aleyah and her parents.
