Sharuna Parallel #4: Letting Go of How they First Dealt with Grief (with a little help)

Inspired by: Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings

After watching the episodes of Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings, I got inspired to do a few artworks, including a series of Sharuna (Shadow x Runa) Parallels.

This Sharuna Parallel shows how Shadow and Runa let go of how they first dealt with grief with help from different mobians.

In Shadow's case, Amy helped him realize that Maria's true wish is to give humanity a chance to be happy. She did so by convincing him to help the people of the planet, save them and give them a chance to live.

In Runa's case, Shadow helped her realize that overprotecting others leads them to nowhere in their paths. He did so by convincing Runa to let Sara grow into who she's meant to be, which was a G.U.N. Agent.

Basically Shadow, Runa, their adoptive children — Lucy, Bubbles, Sara and Junior — and Runa's five chao — Rosy, Mystico, Bearace, Juniper and Shania — were camping in the forest. While camping, they met other people, whose children happened to be friends of Sara, Lucy, Bubbles and Junior from school.

Soon, the forest was caught on fire. Everyone was evacuated except Rosy, who was too scared to go through the fire. Sara rushed inside to save her, but Runa ran after her to pull her back. Shadow grabbed Runa's arm, stopping her. Shadow convinced Runa to let Sara be. Runa protested at first, but Shadow told her that if she kept pulling Sara back, she would never grow to who she's meant to be. Runa remembered that Sara wanted to be a secret agent in G.U.N. and that a G.U.N. soldier can save people. Runa nodded, agreeing that they should let Sara experience what it's like to be a G.U.N. Agent.

Eventually, Sara came out of the forest with Rosy in her hands. Her body was filled with ashes, so she was taken to the hospital. It took months until she fully recovered.
