Sharuna (Shadow x Runa) Parallel #3: Dealing with Grief

Inspired by: Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings

After watching the episodes of Sonic X Shadow Generations: Dark Beginnings, I got inspired to do a few artworks, including a series of Sharuna (Shadow X Runa) Parallels.

This Sharuna Parallel shows how Shadow and Runa deal with grief after their respective best friends died.

On Shadow's side, he sought revenge against humanity fifty years after he was sealed in suspended animation in a capsule by he government. Once he was awakened by Eggman, he helped the latter collect the Chaos Emeralds while secretly executing his plan to destroy humanity. This was all planted in his head by Gerald Robotnik, who also experienced grief after Maria's death.

On Runa's side, she vowed to protect everyone she cared about and not let anyone else get hurt again. This happened after the funeral, when Runa was mourning for Clara alone in front of the grave. Later on, Professor Lucas came ina nd comforted her, saying that there's still someone left to care for her and that was himself. After that, she hugged him.

Runa felt comforted by Professor Lucas' hug, but that didn't mean she could let go of the pain she experienced after witnessing Clara's death. That's when she vowed to protect her friends, family and the people she cares about, especially Professor Lucas.

As a result, Runa started being overprotective over eveyone, including her co-workers in the U.F.P.D. Everyone, especially the policemen and policewomen were annoyed by this, but they managed to tolerate her because they knew how much Clara's death had affected her.
